What's inside
Four features,
built to work together.
Course content, flashcards, writing practice, and reading passages — each one useful on its own, but designed to reinforce each other. Use them alongside the Dangdai series, or entirely on their own.
Course Content
Original content, built for every lesson.
The textbook gives you a lesson. We give you the tools to make it stick. For every lesson across all six books, we've written original vocabulary entries with definitions and contextual examples, grammar notes that explain the why behind each pattern, and original dialogues for reading practice — none of it lifted from the textbook.
The course structure is the scaffold. The content is ours.
- ✓Vocabulary entries — Character, pinyin, definition, and original usage examples for every word in the lesson.
- ✓Grammar breakdowns — Plain-language explanations of each pattern — when to use it, what it contrasts with, and where learners go wrong.
- ✓Original dialogues — Short passages written in-house using only vocabulary and grammar your current level can handle.
- ✓Audio — Native Taipei-accented pronunciation for every vocabulary item — recorded, not synthesised.

Flashcards
Reviews scheduled by memory science, not a calendar.
Most apps show you cards on a fixed schedule. We use FSRS — Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler — which builds a model of your individual memory and predicts the exact moment you're about to forget a word, then surfaces it right before that happens.
The practical effect is that 15 minutes a day keeps you current across thousands of words. No card grinding, no catching up after a weekend break, no reviewing vocabulary you already know cold.
- ✓FSRS algorithm — Predicts your personal forgetting curve rather than applying the same schedule to every user.
- ✓Four honest ratings — Again, Hard, Good, Easy — your response adjusts the model immediately. The more you use it, the sharper it gets.
- ✓Lesson-aware queue — New words from your current lesson enter the queue automatically. Nothing to import or configure.
- ✓Reviews are forever — Free tier gets unlimited reviews — you never lose access to words you've already learned.
Writing Practice
You can't tap your way to handwriting.
Recognising a character and being able to produce it are two different things. Exams test production. Real conversations test production. Multiple-choice flashcards don't.
Our writing engine uses HanziWriter to show you exactly how a character is built — stroke by stroke, in the correct order and direction. Then you write it yourself on the same grid, and the engine tells you immediately whether each stroke is right.
- ✓Animated stroke order — Watch the character being drawn before you attempt it — the exact stroke sequence, at a pace you can follow.
- ✓Stroke-level feedback — Direction and order are both validated as you draw. Wrong stroke caught immediately, before bad habits form.
- ✓Traditional and Simplified — Switch between character sets at any time. The stroke data is accurate for both.
- ✓Replay on demand — Tap replay to watch the animation again as many times as you need.

Reading
Original passages, written to your level.
Reading builds the fluency that flashcards can't — but only if the text is actually at your level. Throw a beginner into native content and they spend the whole time looking up words, not reading. Our passages are written in-house to use only the vocabulary and grammar patterns you've covered so far.
Tap any character you don't recognise for an instant dictionary definition without leaving the passage. Reveal the full English translation when you're stuck. Rate the passage when you're done, and it resurfaces on a spaced schedule — the same FSRS logic that runs your flashcards.
- ✓Level-matched passages — Original dialogues written per lesson using only vocabulary you've already studied.
- ✓Tap-to-lookup — Tap any character for an instant dictionary result — definition, pinyin, examples — without losing your place.
- ✓Tap-to-reveal translation — Try it cold first. The full English is there when you need it.
- ✓Spaced reading schedule — Passages you struggle with come back sooner. Ones you nail get a longer gap. No two learners have the same queue.
